Australian Time

I'll be teaching 'Design Camp' in the Australasian Quilt Convention in April, 2026. This winter I'm offering an online class for those who are registered in my AQC class. Few spots are left, and hey, they are early morning Monday to Friday. What fun! Oh, see my website for details.

Pick and Choose

The second day of my virtual workshop Within the Frame took a look at how the surrounding design interacts with the center. These two of many tryouts struck a chord with the class. I will have toe decide which to use, or perhaps make them both!
 

Virtual or In-Person Within the Frame

One person had to cancel in the 'Within the Frame' class that will be Tuesday and Wednesday, January 21 & 22. You can join us 11 to 4 eastern time (New York) for a virtual workshop. Line Work

Tuesday and Thursday is the Line, Shape, Setting virtual workshop. There are a couple of spots left. This little quilt has that thin pieced line that we will practice and then use in compositions with shape. Something fun for a winter's break. 
 

Back to the Studio

I'm working my way across this piece using sections or "columns" at this point. Once I get the parts together in a column I will rearrange to see if there is some magical redo. And if you want to try a Columns class, it's on the website. www.patpauly.com/virtualclasses      
 

Next Virtual Class

There is a bit of room left in this virtual workshop. It is a five day class that we spread over two weeks. So, Tuesday, Thursday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Having the days between are great to catch up, try out, and recover energy. It's available on my Virtual Classes page of my patpauly.com website. 
 

New Year New Classes

"Well, it was about time for these to show up!" is what I keep hearing. So here is my list so far. There are two more, waiting to get linked in on the website. Your Seat is Available

I'll start the fall virtual classes in a week and a half from now. There is one spot left in Glorious Prints. Anyone who's taken this class will tell you how much there is to learn, and how accomplished they became in five days. So, don't take my word for it. 
 

Four New Classes for Fall

 As we see green leaves turn to fall red, it's time to list my virtual Fall Workshops. I've got four -- two for designing and piecing, and two for printing with dye. One is meant to lead to the other in sequence, so take a look on my web site if you are curious. 

Line, Shape, Setting Januay 26 & 28

Bravo to the Candy Corn

The end of a justifiably wonderful Just Silkscreen week had nine people sharing tips, quirks, problems, and successes. These workshops always get me to try a few novel ideas, and I had a fun time sharing them. Well, they pretty much challenged me to do them. Thanks, all you printers for the great week!
 

A Dozen Ways

Getting ready for Tuesday's class "A Dozen Ways: Design for Art Quilts" means splitting out the dozen into folders with supporting material. If only I had a table for each set, then I'd have enough room.

As Things Emerge

A screenshot of work in progress shows how line and shape is set and the start of the composition. For two days of design, we pack a lot in. Lovely to be with this group of piecers, and look forward to seeing what comes of these sets.
 

Starting With Line

Though we started today sewing thin lines, we ended with lots of shapes and constructions that are now the basis for setting in a composition. That will be tomorrow for Line, Shape and Setting workshop. How nice to have company in my studio again!
