Tools to Travel

I've weighed the pros and cons of checking baggage with the alternative of FedExing tools I need for working with dyes at Art Quilt Tahoe. A student needs way less, but these will get me through demonstrations, dye mixing, cleanup, and the odd swap of bad scrapers and forgotten tape.

What Santa Should Deliver

When I send out materials for my printing class, as well as what to bring for in person classes in printing, it will be these particular scrapers. They're are flexible, great size, and have a great ridge that keeps them from slipping. If you're in my Just Screen Printing workshop in May, I'll send you one.

Santa Knows Me Best

Thanks to Susan who found my favorite kind of scraper. A quick Amazon purchase, I've now got the softer bendable type of plastic scraper. They've got a little ridge on the edge so that my gooey fingers don't slip off as easily. I'll definitely be happy with what Santa sent early.

Smear Test

I'll start a five day class (held over two weeks) Printing Under the Influence. Since I'm using dye that was made a days ago, I'll scrape these on a yard to test the color strength. An easy way to see what is working before I make a dozen prints. I'll wash out in the morn and go from there.

Linen Requested

A friend requested linen for hand stitching and I obliged. This is a detail of the generous yard piece that I will box up tomorrow and mail. I've others, and she'll get those too. I'll make more, then get them to the website shop. Unless they're spoken for.

Printing for Relief

It's been three weeks home for me, and this is what I love to do most -- print. It takes days to concentrate on printing, along with uninterrupted time. So, perfect for the shelter-in-place. Or, maybe  "artist in residence"  sounds better.
