More Music
Third night of music, this time at the Eastman Theater to hear the philharmonic. Lovely evening and in a spectacular setting. I'm thankful to have music all around me, its a constant companion.

Songs of Protest
The concert's organizers were moved by the killings in Minnesota as well as the state of the union. They assembled 20 singer-songwriters who volunteered their time to sing to a packed house and offer songs of protest. I feel honored to know many of these people who performed, and be part of that dedicated crowd.

Shenanigans
Today's entertainment included workshops in conjunction with the 54th annual Turtle Hill Music Festival here in Rochester, NY. Among the serious, technical, harmonic, and though provoking sessions was this one from two music therapists. We all got a bit of good deserved therapy! My day off was fun.

Night Out
Mountain Stage was here in Rochester, NY, to record a live broadcast for air in a few weeks. My part was easy, just be the audience. This finale had all on stage but a couple, and a good mix of all genres of music. I had a great time, and am lucky to be minutes away from Kodak Hall and what it has to offer.

Night Out
It was cold, but the driving was clear. So, I got out to hear some music. This is a converted train depot where a library is now located. The community room holds the music show, and it's always always great stuff. I show this to prove that I do not work alllll the time!

Best End of the Day
I spent hours getting a shipment ready to go only to find the box was 9" too long. Too long to ship. So, I've decided that my absolute least favorite part of my job is packing these works up to deliver. Hours. Lost. So, ending the day with a little music expertly played was a joy. (ps: delivered the package by hand)

Music Saturday
I was Joe Cunningham's driver for the weekend as he finished at QBL and readied to get to the Birmingham, England Festival of Quilts show. So, before we got to the opening that night, I dragged Joe (on the right) to a singalong gathering Saturday morning. He was modest, but not in his playing ability.

A Day for Song
Today was a day to gather and remember a friend who passed away. As part of the musical community, Niki was a strong and steadfast soul that showed how to persevere, always without complaint. We sang songs, shared stories, and devoured the cake I brought.

Mother's Treat
Tonight I treated myself (as a Mother's day extravagance) to a concert of Lyle Lovett and Lisa Loeb. I've been a fan of Lovett for years, but am new to Lisa Loeb. Well worth the 40 minute drive to the lovely Smith Opera House in Geneva, NY. And a nice chance to hear seasoned musicians.

Jake Night
After a nine day stretch listening to music with the Rochester International Jazz Festival, I was ready to spend another night hearing world class music to break the withdrawal. So I bought a ticket to hear Jake Shimabukuro play his ukulele. Perfect cure.

Saturday = Music Day
Yesterday was a meetup of various folks who took turns entertaining the Adirondack Mountain Club Rochester Chapter. I went on 'stage' early, then got to enjoy from the audience. Today was items-on-the-list day, so call it homework and checked off.

As Close as Possible
Some of you know I'm a folkie wannabee. There was a workshop to try out the acoustic bass. This is about as close as I could be to even considering getting sound from this massive instrument. I did "play" it, but wow, it's very hard. But glad to have the chance to try.

Music Making
As a member of the singing group in Rochester, I was part of a jam presentation. Three bands were randomly chosen, and after 6 weeks of practice, we performed last night. I've a great respect for performers, regardless of the talent or genre. It takes time, patience and nerve. Now back to being just me.

Day Off
After the morning of zooming to San Francisco and Joe Cunningham's lecture series, it was time to enjoy what's left of the beautiful fall. A gathering of all for some music, food, and just being together. Off I go tomorrow for more adventures!

Music to Start, Music to End
This weekend was a Folk Festival here, and this morning I got there early to be in a couple of great workshops. The afternoon and evening was a friend's wedding, which ended the day with music and merriment. How could I be any luckier?

A Night Out
I'm looking for safe places to hear live music, and since another snow storm is heading this way, I thought of taking in an offering a half-hour away in Clifton Springs. It's always uplifting, even though it's terribly unglitzy. That's ok, gotta have some roots to get flowers.

Time Out
Sunday night was a chance to be outside, distanced, and listening to lovely music. I'd already gotten my longarm ready to go for tomorrow, so Sunday night was mine.

All Music, All Day
While crowds were shopping, I was fortunate to take in two wonderful concerts today. This afternoon a baroque filled playlist, and this evening candlelit medieval choir music. The Genesee River was still, listening as well, I gather.

Music Week
A birthday tribute to Bob Dylan was tonight's fare, and through the week was folksinging, opera, and bluegrass. My art is so tangible, tactile. I am appreciating the fleeting nature of the "in the moment" art form of music.
