Life Imitates Art

I sometimes wonder why I am drawn to shapes like this. Yes, it's the art before the horse, but reality (the Baltimore Aquarium) and the print world must have some thin membrane between them.

 

Inside Space

In a museum that must allow for containers that are fluid, where the collection is constantly moving and changing, is a grand task. A visit to the Baltimore Aquarium manages this task beautifully, and moves a crowd of thousands along in a flow equal to any incoming tide.

Seen on the streets of Baltimore it's another good stand in for our full moon. All things round, and another interpretation in the list of round.

 

Surrounded

On last week's visit to Baltimore I found myself in a very public park. Baseball games, dogs walking, lots of park traffic. But there was a giant weeping willow that was left alone to droop to the ground. And if you went "inside" you would be hidden from the park world. What to make of that?
 

Boring But Important

Our field trip today was to see Fort McHenry. An important part of the Battle of Baltimore during the War of 1812, it was the less than stellar for photogenic glimpses. I tried, but hadn't time/light/camera/skill (mostly skill) to capture anything but these major forms of bricks.

Fish Out of Water

A visit to Baltimore had a warm weather walk in Patterson Park. This is the Pagoda and magnolia tree with the city in the far distance. Why a Pagoda form in this park beats me. But it's been here since 1892, and now a Baltimore city historic landmark.

In Need of Warmth

A trip to the conservatory in Baltimore gives a break from the cold of my hometown. I'll  take the sun's warmth back soon in time for the solstice and more cold.

On The Water

There is nothing like the light reflection on water to double the image's impact. I love using water in my work. Here I am on the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.

Skeleton Man

On the street in downtown Baltimore I found this little skeleton man, crushed and imbedded into the street. He was the coolest thing I saw tonight. We did not try to save him from any more traffic. Maybe he is an omen. Ha!
