Full Moon for July

While waiting for my zoom call with England's Crafty Monkeys, I spotted this space-age looking pendant light in the common room of our dining hall. Couldn't resist having this a fill for the full moon. Mainly because this is the best shot my camera can do (off my deck overlooking the 'valley').

 

Strawberries and the Moon

Friends came for my first 'dinner' at the new place and we sat on the deck watching the full moon (the Strawberry Moon) eating strawberry shortcake. Delightful, and a great way to welcome summer. 
 

Pink Moon

The tote bag was sent off today to Alegre Retreat along with a couple of quilts to display, and a heavy box of material to print this April at Gateway Canyon in Colorado. This detail is where I signed it, and I think it's a good stand in for tonight's full moon -- the Pink Moon.
 

Snow Moon

Sitting in the northeast states, we're used to snow. As a Buffalonian by birth, I've got snow in my blood. So this latest cover of snow, and no surprise, cold, greets this full moon with a clear night sky and a landscape that can be seen in its light. This detail of a work sent India, fills in for tonight's moon. 
 

Full Wolf Moon

Judy Rosenberg's self-portrait seems a fitting full moon for January. Part of a portrait show, this ceramic has wonderful soulful faces, much like the man in the moon. I know I'm a day late reporting the full moon, but the wolf made me wait.
 

Full Moon

Supermoon is our treat for this month, and also the last for this year. This detail from a printed piece (now sold from my web store) will give your a year's worth of moon gazing. Enjoy the feast, and farewell to 2025's cast.

Fulll Moon for November

Circles are a common motif in print class, and this fit this month's supermoon. I'm in the thick of printing workshop, and looking forward to AQT next year. Harvest Supermoon

My dear readers, you know if it's the full moon tonight, I'll be finding something round and tantalizing (as my camera can't record the spectacle) as this closeup of mine, Spring Cleanup. I'm busy adding and refreshing my lecture for Thursday's meeting here, and the edits are flying. Why can't I be ruthless?

Last night's full moon seemed a spotlight on the plane's wing. I had to think twice to know what that bright spot in the sky actually was. With Rochester's city lights below, I grabbed the chance to record this on my phone. Not the best camera to record, but I wanted to capture the full moon

 I should really highlight my entire patch of marvelous daylilies that were decimated by deer (I'll imagine it was a BUCK) but that would bring tears. Instead feast on these two prints using a soy wax screen. Think shirt, skirt, dress, or OK, a great frame for a kid's quilts. And the kid can be a grown-up. Happy full moon,

Full Moon

My full moon fill-in. Sometimes I look at prints that I've done (this is a detail) and can't figure out just how-in-the-heck I made that. But I have an idea that I've got a monoprint here where I've printed to the table, then pulled a print from that. I'll add my meager full moon shot over the expressway tonight.

 

Flower Moon

 

I promised myself that when I get caught up in my computer work, I'd visit the garden stores and add to my garden. For now, this viburnum, as sweet and fragrant as it is, will have to do for the Flower Moon this month. And it might be a few days before I'm ready to get those annuals.

Full Moon April's Pink

 But mine is not. It's blue, and courtesy of the Vision Museum and its collection of contemporary glass. There's a lot to love there, and glass of all colors, just not one I could remember was pink. Happy full moon day (yesterday!).

Worm Moon

An apt picture fill in for the full Worm Moon is this graphic of the ever growing Chicago airport. I love the sepia tone, the aerial view -- as if we had the pilot's view -- that I found in the airport this week. Part of a series that showed the airport's timeline growth. 

Snow Moon

A snap fill-in for the full "snow moon" tonight. This is page from The New Yorker magazine where the cartoon illustration on the page's reverse layered-in when lit by the morning light from behind. It reminded me of an exhibition of Robert Heinecken's work I remember from an exhibit of the 80s. 

 

Full Moon

It's a rare site to have an actual photo of the full moon in my post, but that's because it's not my camera! It was time for a soak in a wood-fired hot tub under the stars with some hard cider to celebrate. I'll get to work soon enough. For now, it's cheers to the Wolf Moon.
 

Full Moon for December

Twilight yields the full moon, not as spectacular as viewed naturally, but capturable. I returned from the studio with little success on the thermofax prints as my machine would no longer work to burn the film. And we tried every setting a variable. But, even if it worked, it is still a small graphic size.
 

Super Moon

I'm still in the land of super everything -- sun, amusements, gardens -- and as you all know, can't get a good image of the full moon on my camera. So I offer a garden ornament from Lotusland in Santa Barbara for a fill in. Should you be near this fabulous garden, don't pass it by.
 

Hunter's Moon

The clear sky holds that glorious supermoon still can't be captured by my meager camera lens. So, here is a detail of a piece I've printed. Many who have taken my printing class know this is a monoprint because the screen prints is drawn through. 
 

Harvest Supermoon with Surprise

A detail of fabric I have added this week to teh website store predicts tonight's Supermoon. Bonus -- there is also a partial luner eclipse. Can't say I'll be able to see it amid the city lights, but someone will get a kick.
