Alpaca's Eye View

It's looking at me, and I've no clue what is going on in it's mind. This is the first greeting at the Hemlock Fiber Festival that was held yesterday. And if these alpaca care, their fleece is in bags under the tent just behind them. Not for them anymore, but for someone who can spin, weave and/or knit. Lucky someone.

Ordered Chaos

Finished and hung. It's my latest off the longarm and I'll bring this to Art Quilt Midwest with me. I'm also going to add this as an entry to the SAQA NY/NJ call for the "By Contrast" exhibit. At 53 x 39 it fits the size requirements for accepted work. Cross your fingers, but meanwhile, it'll be on the plane to Kansas.

Time for Celebrating

Judy Kirpich (red glasses) presents her work in the second floor gallery above the Quilts=Art=Quilts exhibit. Its a vast, open room where her works are given the breathing room and reverence they deserve. I'm sure that she felt loved, celebrated, special, accomplished and happy. We all confirmed that.

Canton, Ohio and Focus: Fiber

"Mummy Bags Influenced" is on the left at the opening last night of the Focus: Fiber 2011-12 show. Very fun, great to see other participating artists, and lovely gallery. If you go, you will not be disappointed with this world of fiber art.
