Three Versions of Edges

These go out tomorrow to Rochester Contemporary for their annual fundraiser 6x6x2024. I experimented with the edge treatment. One is wrapped with strips, one nothing, one with a back that flopped over the facing. All are fine, got lots of stitching on edges. And they are fun to make. Important!

Donation Time

Each year I try to add a few pieces to the Rochester Contemporary Art Center's 6x6 fundraiser. All donations are 6"x6" square; sometimes 6x6x6. All are anonymous, are $20, and there are thousands donated. One of the few times I donate. I'm trying to meet the weekend deadline, wish me luck.

Another Sold

Although it's just 6 inches by 6 inches, I'd like to think it is monumental in design. Who would blink if I said it was 6 feet by 6 feet. Anyway, thank you kind friend for reaching out to Rochester Contemporary and purchasing this little sewn collage.

Sold is Good

Rochester Contemporary's annual fundraiser sells donated 6 " x 6" works for $20 each. This is one of four that I've donated, two are sold. You can search and select from thousands on their website. It's amazing the breadth of the media and talent. Here's one of mine still up:  https://roco6x6.org/gallery/2023/2479

Four for 6x6

Second Saturdays had me in Studio 301 with some tinkering time, so I took the trimmings from the last quilt and made some quick little 6 x 6 squares for the Rochester Contemporary exhibition. It is a big fundraiser with all works at $20. All works are 6" x 6". These are four to go out the door.

Fabric Paintings?

The fundraiser for Rochester Contemporary asks for donations of 6" x 6" art. They're anonymously sold for $20. I'll just make the submission deadline, I think. These are canvas glued with my printed fabric. I'll do more, just because.

6 x 6 Times Thousands

Each year the Rochester Contemporary Art Center holds the 6x6 show of donated artwork. At only $20 per work, it is the gallery's largest fundraiser. And a small spectacle for those who can check out (and purchase) a work. I've got mine. You can too, and via the web as well.

Trio of 6x6

Rochester Contemporary (ROCO) holds a fund raiser every year, and I met today's deadline to add my 6"x6" works. They will be in good company for the sale -- each is just $20 -- which starts June 3. Trick is to find these among the nearly 3000 works.

Two For a Good Cause

For nine years, Rochester Contemporary has asked artists to give (up to four) works for their annual fundraiser. The 6x6 show features thousands of works by famous and lesser known artists, each selling for $20. I've managed to meet the deadline for a few years, today 2016 was due.

Rochester Contemporary 6x6 2015

Yes, I have four small works in the middle of this mayhem. Over 6,000 works from all over the globe are to be seen for the last weekend. Nearly 2,500 of them have been sold for $20 each. What fun to see the materials, subjects, styles. Food for thought!

6 x 6 by a Zillion

7,300 works are crowding the walls, and I could not find mine! These folks (most of them) have a red sticker and are waiting for the signal to tag the work they want to purchase for $20. It is an amazing fund raiser, and fun as well. I stopped in but way too many people (even for me). http://www.roco6x6.org/6x6x2012_intro.php
