Craft Napa Chit Chat

Pokey Bolton asked me to give an inspiring talk, and so I built one for the online retreat, Craft Napa, that she hosts. It was fun, a bit of time, but always helpful to be more precise and clear about what I do and how I think through a problem. Which is probably what they are doing in their workshops! Thanks all!
 

Cross the Border to See York

Last night I spoke to the wonderful York Heritage Quilters Guild near Toronto (and a whole bunch on their virtual zoom). They all say hello! Plus I got to see the wonderful work they do in their show and tell. Such a nice night!
 

Memory Lane

I gave a talk today to a group in Muskoka, Canada. Part of the lecture had me going through  history of my work, what I was doing along the way, and this image came up. For a year I wrapped my front yard tree in a piece of printed fabric I made. Each day, rain, sun, sleet, ice. What a year, right?
 

At the Ready

Tonight I'll travel virtually to Essex, Vermont and the meeting of the Champlain Valley Quilt Guild. I'll have a lecture (way to many photos, I know) and a tour of the sewing side of the studio. The print side is reserved for my print classes! But the design wall is holding a half dozen works, all is ready to go. 

 

More of the Lineup

Good thing I've got quick photos of this design wall with works in progress. I've taken the pieces down to set up for next morning's lecture with the Warwick Valley Quilter's Guild. Layers of quilts, a bit of tidying, and it's ready for them. But, I'll be happy to reclaim my design wall.
 

Evening Lecture

I visited Minneapolis tonight. Just for a little while, to show them my work and talk about my studio. Outside my door was a warm, clear evening; there the sun hadn't yet set. All in this virtual life, me looking at me, looking at them, all laughing with a second time delay. What a nice evening.
 

Full Zoom Ahead

It was not the same as being there, but the closest it could be. My virtual lecture for the Tompkins County Quilt Guild had my lecture, a brief house tour, a demonstration on how to hang a quilt (sans nails), and live virtual show and tell of my work. Almost as good as live. Thanks TCQG!
