The fabric was flying for "The Big Leaf" class here. Wild combinations, as well as sedate ones, were tested in this pattern. We managed time for lots of other topics as well. A full day, and great quilters.

That's a Box of Pencils
This set showed up at the workshop Saturday for the Big Leaf. I suggest one bring a few colored pencils, this set took top prize! Almost to good to use as tick marks for the pattern.

Cutting Up in Lancaster
Now working with a full scale drawing as a guide, the intrepid Kathy decides just what will work, and what will go in my class for AQS called "Cutting Up the Pretties". Tomorrow I'm on to "The Big Leaf".

Taking Advice
Being who I am is often at odds with taking advice. Believe me, its true. But I did take the suggestion to break up my yards of hand-dyes, and here is what I offer as a "kit" for the Big Leaf workshop. Not too tidy, just suggestions for two complimentary colors. And compliments to my friend who advised me.

View From Afar
Janet's rendition of "The Big Leaf" is here in a quick shot from my camera. A tool that I use often -- to snap a look at work in progress -- serves to isolate and focus the entire work. Often I can see what is gelling or what sticks out. This was a new trick to offer her, and now you know too.
