Northern most point of the City

A day trip to the shores of Lake Ontario and a sighting of a historical marker about early white settlers to the area. The site held a fur trading post by the French who traded with the Senecas. I forget the change this land has had, as we were just looking for a day's diversion.
 

Dedicated to Our Country

This beautiful vest made by an Artist Once Known of the Dakota tribe (late 1800s) used porcupine quills sewn in hide (possibly deer) with linen and velvet. The symbols are explained in the text, added here. The thought "We are dedicated to our 'country' " is worth letting sink in.

History Happens Here

Today's meeting of the Genessee Valley Quilt Club had Pam Weeks (blue shirt) for a lecture on quilt history. She explained 200 years of quilting in her hour talk and we were all great students. We all got an A, she got applause.

Gifts

The ginko tree (hit from the late snow) and the iris were gifts from long ago. Someday I will have to leave these behind, but for now they are part of my landscape. Love how they glow in the early morning.
