Jim Arendt's work depicting his mom and dad in life sized portraits made of reclaimed denim blew me away at the World of Threads exhibit in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. I've never seen anything like this -- so very distinct from any other type of fabric portraiture. He's from Conway, South Carolina.
