I thought I had the color pallet set, but was asked to add red. I was stopped a bit there, but after adding that strong color into this gentle set, I could see the difference, and the change. So, it's nearly finished and sporting Red.

Starting With Line
Though we started today sewing thin lines, we ended with lots of shapes and constructions that are now the basis for setting in a composition. That will be tomorrow for Line, Shape and Setting workshop. How nice to have company in my studio again!

Just for Starters
Line, Shape, Setting was the workshop today through QSDS. And so -- LINE -- in all its wonderful skinniness. Yes, we also took shape and worked that in. Tomorrow is setting. Or composition, whatever you want to call it. I'm ready.

Skinny Line Study
A little study showing the fabrics I use for those skinny lines will travel with me to Napa this January. It replaces the one I once traveled with. Seems that other line study needed to keep traveling, so here's my new friend.

Off to New Home
Take Two: Sharks and Jets was all about a rumble. Two distinct groups clashing, along with lines that shoot through each set. It was admired, then purchased, and now gone to hang in its new home. I'll miss its noise.

One More for the Road
Here's the top of the bow ties -- you know, the one I couldn't stop making. I've got it folded into a tiny package and ready to stuff in the suitcase for my workshop Bow Ties this Sunday in Denver. It'll pack next to my down vest and gloves.

Love Those Skinny LInes
A smattering of skinny line leaves from the quilters at Quilt North in Saratoga County. Hot off the press (preferably with lots of steam to set!) they are today's experiment with improvisational piecing and sewing that skinny line. It was a perfect day.

The Cat's Away
Line work I found on the street. I don't know how to use this, but images do collect in the bank, gain interest, and one day get cashed in. Beside the gray and white color, I love the line.

End of the Day
Not a full house for this Bow Tie class (at least on quilter was missing from this shot), but definitely a class full of talent and loads of fun. We managed to make a block or two while geting a good amount of chatter on design with the new skinny line yesterday.

Cross Hairs
I've been experimenting with this skinny line for some time. I'm using some material that I was gifted. It is just a fabulous print, and makes a great line. I think this plaid was gifted as well. Love them together.

This is Just a Test
I'm working on my skinny lines for some classes, and made up a sample of what effect the line fabric has on the work. It is so much fun to make these, and more fun to slice through them.

Little Lines
I'm working on a study of lines, and have come back to look at this work made a few years ago. It is just your average commercial cotton, but looks so different once quilted.
