Meet Julie Silber

Part of the quilt extravatanza for this summer's at the Cahoon Museum of Art is an exhibit of Julie Silber's collection of old and new quilts. The works are a delight, always hold a great story, and have a soul. Like Julie herself, I might add. It was great to spend time with Julie, go visit this summer in Cotuit, Mass.
 

Quilts and History

Part of the meeting for many quilt guilds or clubs is the section of show and tell. A gentleman brought this antique quilt -- very early, maybe late 1800s -- to show us. I'm always intrigued. He noted that it hung on his bedroom wall until he had to downsize, now it's not on display. But we got to see it and remember.  
 

Quilt, Drape, Cover, Cash

A trip yesterday to a room in Paul Revere's house (yes, that Paul Revere) has a quilt, canopy, wing chair cover, and seat cover all in the same floral fabric. Decorating with one fabric was the way to show off . Ok, maybe this is a reproduction, but it was Paul's house.
