Farewell Ruth

We met last night to remember Ruth White, a lovely, warm, and always positive woman who loved science and quilting. She knew, and we did as well, that her time would be short. But what she did with that time was a gift to us all.

Full Moon, Full House

Ruth White was the voice of SAQA tonight at the QBL quilt show, spreading the word about the group that represents art quilters world wide. She also brought my 2008 12 x 12 auction quilt (that she owns) called "Little Big Red." It was a delight to see both Ruth and my quilt.

Moon Phases

First it is here, then it is gone. Then returning, just to tease with a sliver. This lovely piece is by Ruth White, and made of cotton velvets. The moons are actually see through.

Trunk Show at the Schweinfurth

Ruth White was on hand yesterday to show her work at the Schweinfurth. She demonstrates that there is no way her shaped quilt will connect without the missing piece. The crowd did not mind; we were thrilled to hear her presentation.
