Jane's Garden

Now that I'm home for a bit, I'm chaffing for a good weeding session in my garden. Wouldn't it be nice to have a Jane Sassaman Garden? Her work on exhibit last week at QBL is weed free, all upright and neat, full of color and punch. Well done garden, Jane.

One fun part of hanging out in the same space as the quilt show is seeing works you admire by friends you admire. Like this Jane Sassaman piece. She's here teaching this week at Quilting by the Lake, but I've not had a chance to sit and chat. So much for working girls!

A Sassaman Kind of Day

Today's speaker for the GVQC was Jane Sassaman. Her lecture was perfect -- funny, kind, logical, and inspiring. My take was that the design for her art filtered into her fabric designs. This quilt is mainly squares, cut just so, that catch just a certain part of the fabric. Lovely.
