Envy is Good

I'm always curious to see what shows up in the quilter's stash at design workshops. This fab stripe fabric had me returning to look at it again and again. You know I've been caught up in printing stripes, and this had such energy and workability. When I get a chance to print again, I'll try one with this in mind.
 

Side Trip to Marcia Derse

Marcia Derse lives close to where the Pacific Northwest Art School class is in Coupeville. So, today was a field trip to visit her studio and talk to her about her fabric designs. Her design sense and catalog of images is vast. And to hear her speak about the work is priceless. Thank you Marcia!
 

Wish I Was There

A friend sent a shot of the Marimekko store in Boston. Lucky I had her text number and could use her as my personal shopper. I've been a fan of their fabrics since I first saw them in the 70s. I might show you what I got when she returns. 

 

From the Stash

Even though I print fabric, I manage to collect commercial prints. This random set was for a Take Two discussion. What can be done commercially with clear line, oddball color combinations, and perfectly repeated patterns, is all part of what influences how I print as well. And yes, they sometimes go together.
