Workable Square

I'm compilimg a set of works that are based on a square. This is a composition that may become larger (still square format) but is split almost down the middle and has two different base prints. It is the common background yellow that allows one to flow in to the other. Love when that happens.
 

Tryouts

I'm using a frame cut from a poster board that is 24" square in the window. It'll help me compose, and know trimmed final size. I will make them oversized, and trim the 1" past the finished size so they will finish at exact measure. 
 

Need a Trim?

Although I've got a 6' long metal ruler (the red one) it's not long enough to mark the entire width. So, I've married a long metal ruler to that edge and will switch from one to the other to cut the trim mark on this piece. And, happy to have a table in the new studio long enough to make the job easier.
 

Squaring \And Trim

Spilled on omputer now ard to type. Just finised squareing wit mt my 48 in drywall ruler t-square. Hope tis omputer will work tomorrow.

Square Dance

A big 48" T-square that Home Depot markets as a drywall measuring tool is my go-to for squaring up my finished quilt. I use the "T" end against the edge of the table to determine that 90 degree cut, then move to the other edge and continue. (Sorry my photo clipped the T-square.)

Trimming

Time for my 4' long framing square to trim the quilt. I'll hook the end against the square of the table (just a hollow core door atop a drawer unit) and use the metal edge to guide the rotary cutter. Mine came from Home Depot.
