The Lineup

Seventeen works are hung, and they do take command of this space. The one nearest is 'Normandy' from 2016, one that also traveled with Quilt National '17. I'm glad to have the opportunity to show it past that exhibition, as they frequently 'age out' of juried shows.

Installation Day at RIT

The University Gallery at the Rochester Institute of Technology is hosting my work in an exhibition till October 7. It's a grand space, comparable to the height and volume of major museums. we've set out the show and are starting to hang the works.

Future of Exhibitions

I've set aside work that is earmarked to go on exhibit this summer at RIT. As I write, campus is shut down. The reopening is not yet set, so can't say if this exhibit will be virtual or not. I'm ready when they're ready.

Living With Art

There's time on the design wall, then there's time when you live with it. You can get a feel for the size of this work, and I'm enjoying having it around. I've got a show this summer so this will be there for a few months. For now, it's mine.

Winter White is Today's Opening

The University Gallery at RIT is showing work of Susan Ferrari Rowley. Her sculptures were build for this site, and you can see the interplay of white and shadow. I can't help but think the tablecloths were trying to sneak in as part of this installation.

Inspiration from Lester, Again

I can't let this photo stay in the camera, I must share it. It is an ink and watercolor (possibly) by Lester Beall, perhaps in the 1940s. The linear quality, coupled with the red organic shape is worth a study. And splitting the background in two colors lands it on the earth somewhere. At least for my eye.

Portrait from Roger Remington

It was on my calendar for weeks, and finally got to see the last day of Roger Remington's work at RIT University Gallery. These prints were so alive, and current, that I had to look twice at the dates (1960s). This is "Portrait of Many Sub-Atomic Events". Graphic design, sigh.
