Get Out

It's mid December with a clear blue sky. So a crisp, and a beautiful walk along a gorge near Ithaca, New York today. One spectacular view after another. Just the perfect end to a week of work, house renovation, and catching up. Next week, taking care of details. 
 

Full Zoom Ahead

It was not the same as being there, but the closest it could be. My virtual lecture for the Tompkins County Quilt Guild had my lecture, a brief house tour, a demonstration on how to hang a quilt (sans nails), and live virtual show and tell of my work. Almost as good as live. Thanks TCQG!

Make Mine Orange

Celebrating Queen's Day means you wear orange, and if you are Aafke, you wear orange at all times. So, her construction in this weekend's class was, natch, orange leaning. What fun to be around this and all the other works in progress. 

Graphics on the Rollers

One of my favorite fabric stores is Homespun in Ithaca, New York. I bought these three one-yard cuts to make a half-square triangle quilt (via the Pauly method) and now it is loaded and ready to quilt. Love the cold and the permission to stay inside.

Hanging (Out) on the Line

The rubber gloves on the line are the clue that there was a lot of dye-discharge going on. Aafke hosted a group on her farm, with me offering all I know about bleaching 101. Seems they hardly needed me. Fun group.

Solstice Garden Tour

The longest day of the year, and I took a tour of a fantastic Ithaca garden. Just what we needed to feed our souls. Thanks to Lee and Renata for their time tonight.

Quilt Show in Ithaca

The Tompkins County Quilters Guild's biennial show this weekend includes my booth of hand-dyed fabrics down the isle from some very colorful and note-worthy works. It goes tomorrow as well with some strong and wonderful Civil War era quilts on loan from the historical society. Very humbling to see these fine works.
