Lotus Land 2 Off to QAQ

This little work (20 x 31) 'Lotusland 2' is in the post headed to the Schweinfurth's silent auction. The Quilts=Art=Quilts exhibition, where my 'Lotusland" is accepted, will also have this on view. I love making a smaller companion for the exhibit. And I like helping to support the Schweinfurth's mission.

Never the Twain

I've two works to go to respective shows, left for the members show at RoCo, right for the silent auction for Quilts=Art=Quilts. But not before I have some fun joining them to see possibilities I'll not grab. Another time, another set.

New and Just Hung Up

The little piece on the left (still needing a name) will go the Schweinfurth's Art Center's auction wall with others included in the Quilts=Art=Quilts show. It is a smaller version of the accepted piece 'Rite of Spring' which carries the same kind of composition. It's always fun to see who wins these. You can, too!

Auction Winner

Judy outbid the crowd that thought my work was the one. She's kind to value it, and knows how I print this as we were together in a class at QSDS a few years ago. I know it will be appreciated, as I appreciate knowing it's off to its forever home. Thank you Judy!

Trimmed and Quilt Ready

The largest graphic, and most important element is the cluster of dark circles, and I wanted them to be different than any other part of this composition. The rest -- the three quarters that circle around it -- mush together in vaguely the same weight. This is now quilt ready.

The Last Thing

The last of five small works that will be at QSDS is getting its sleeve sewn on tonight. Then I'll have to decide which to donate to the live auction (Fridays) and which to exhibit for sale. But five will travel to Columbus with me.

QSDS Auction Next Month

The first two weeks of June are times for QSDS and this year it will be virtual. The auction will be virtual as well, and I've sent this small quilt for them to use for their scholarship fund. I'll keep you posted where and when it will be online and how you might bid, should you be so inclined.

On the Auction Block

Studio Art Quilts Associates (SAQA), of which I am a member, holds an online auction each year. My work "Petite Mummy Bags 2" was part of the auction, and it has been sold. Many other classy and intricate works can be seen at http://www.saqa.com/gallery-mini-detail.php?ID=2101
