Ten additions to my online website 'shop' hardly made a dent in the amount. This one was from Art Quilt Tahoe. A demonstration of mixing color yields a piece with several mixes of color, then I add a predominantly background screen over it. This background color is a 'mystery' brown/red I love.

Fulll Moon for November
Circles are a common motif in print class, and this fit this month's supermoon. I'm in the thick of printing workshop, and looking forward to AQT next year. Between those dates I'll be teaching a bunch of places, most notably in Australia (for sewing and design) on online for printing. Special class online printing for Australia. Morning Gathering
The Art Quilt Tahoe class gathers each morning to see results of the previous day. Always very cool to hear other's take on the print. These keep getting more and more complex and wonderful. A great class and wonderful layout with room to print.

Give Me More
My screens and prints from teaching at Art Quilt Midwest returned today thanks to FedEx. Which gave me incentive to add new prints (to my website store) I'd taken to Missouri as examples of techniques we'd use in class. My next in-person class is at Art Quilt Tahoe in early November. There's two spots left!

AQT and a Visit from Velda
Velda Newman was part of the closing ceremonies for Art Quilt Tahoe Thursday night. She brought her large works dedicated to her mother, an iris lover. She allowed so little time to see this, I could only snag a quick photo. Another is below. These are spectacular -- big, bold, beautiful. Velda is a treasure.

On My Way Home
Last night's light to send me home. Today was an early rise for my ride to Reno Airport, then Denver, then Chicago, and then to Rochester. Bags all there, Uber just fine, home again. New list started!

My Wonderful Class
A mighty troop of printers they are! A week with Art Quilt Tahoe proved a perfect way to share a surface design process that included more ways to print than we had time for. They were great to be among, and no doubt that they will use what they've made this week for some splendid works.

Decisions, Decisions
Knowing how to print comes quickly, knowing what to print not as fast. The time to decide, ponder, wonder, and replace takes time and patience. Still, worth the effort to print the intriguing composition. Still at Art Quilt Tahoe.

Meeting of the Minds
We started our day with a look at what we did yesterday, and lots of ideas for how to carry on. This group is sharp, kind, and terribly fun. Only missing thing is tea and scones delivered at 3.

Lake Tahoe
It's difficult to say how beautiful this piece of the country is. Art Quilt Tahoe is directly on the lake, and to get from class to lunch you walk just a few feet from the water's shore. We also were treated to an exuberant sky, quite dramatic. Perhaps a foreshadowing of our week ahead.

Printing for the Storm
Snow landed, briefly, in town, so yes, there was a 'storm', but it was mainly in the print studio. I'll be showcasing these silk scarves for the First Friday open house at Studio 301. Any left, and there should be plenty, will travel with me to Art Quilt Tahoe. And snow there is fine, too!

Beer (Cup) Party
Before I leave the stack of photos from Art Quilt Tahoe, I should show you all this. It is a view of the "tower" that we used to lay our wet prints flat. Yes, that's a double beer cup for spacers between the foam insulation boards. It's a great system in a pinch. But we still were waiting for the beer.

Glance Back
My trip from Tahoe to Rochester took 30 hours, an overnight in the airport, and funky food. But I wanted to leave you with an image of two of the work tables, and their prints. All pieces that emerged were magical, fun, high chroma, and inventive. Thank you all who were with me there for my refreshing week!

What We Do For Fun
Art Quilt Tahoe is like many retreats for creatives. We get a group together, explore a process or project, and practice as much as time allows. This is a typical scene, and boy, did we make great prints!
What Next
Before the day starts, we finish what we started yesterday. The proverbial question: What Next? And it may seem like we are seriously considering the demise of lately departed, we are in fact figuring how to breathe more life into the piece. One of my favorite times.

The Undiscerning Traveler
It must be that my level of fantastic is low. I am able to love any landscape regardless of how thrilling or important it is. So, the bus ride from Reno to Tahoe's retreat where I'll be teaching can be as exciting as all get out. Just the texture of the pines, the grit of the earth, the color of the sage brush. It's swell.

The Gloves are ON
My next trip is Art Quilt Tahoe for a printing workshop. One of the nights, I get to bring and sell my printed fabric and scarves. So, here's the start of what I'll bring. And, well, they also are good examples for the print class.

Sew It Begins
Even I have to soda soak fabric for the week at Art Quilt Tahoe. And before anything else, I'll be sewing tyvek tags to the corner of the yard to identify it from all the hundreds of pieces that will be printed that week. It's an amazing spectacle -- all those great prints. Well, still gotta start with the fabric.

Ready for the Suitcase
This whole cloth print (that I snagged from my webstore) is quilted and faced, ready to pop into the suitcase for Art Quilt Tahoe. I was asked to design a T-shirt for the retreat, and this was the image I used. The finished quilt will be auctioned for scholarships for AQT. So, if you're there, bid on it!
