Garden Tour

Yesterday's cherry on top was a stroll in the Upper Monroe Garden Walk and Ann's garden. Like the luck we all need at a deadline, her plants obeyed the call and flowered right on time for the event. Lots of beauty, unusual plants, and stone sculptures all on a little city plot.  
 

Full (Corn) Moon

This is as 'corny' as you can get for this month's full 'corn' moon. After I was away for a few weeks, and the home temps reaching into the 90s-100s, I had to pull the dead stuff and replant the planters on the front step. These blossoms haven't budged for weeks. Must be happy. Neither have I!
 

Bits of Plants

Our fiber group here took over the Schweinfurth's wet studio to try some eco printing and indigo printing. I could get into this plant-gathering and flinging-about practice. I've got some cotton and silk that are bundled and will have to wait a couple of weeks for the reveal.

Planting Time

The rule is that you can plant after Memorial Day. Anytime before and you'll risk a frost, and sure death. But the pots and packs of plants are primed and ready. And they're calling me. As well as the break from printing fabric.

A Plant Full of Vim

My friend Marcia gives out loads of cannas each spring. Mine were potted and a delight all summer. Still in bloom today.  I put it aside when I had to depot and garage the ceramic for the winter. Thank you, Marcia.

Plant Heaven

I waited a year for this, and the Greater Rochester Perennial Society's sale did not disappoint. So, with a light drizzle to keep the plants perky, I loaded my car. Then the afternoon was for planting. What distraction!
