Cris Winters runs Art at the Pink House, where she shows her work in eco printed textiles and fabric collages. Her Saranac Lake house and shop attest to the fact that every corner of the world has at least one of us textilers in it.

Holiday Shopping Begins

While I won't be participating in Black Friday, I've mailed some printed scarves to the Pink House Gallery in Saranac Lake. Yes, wool might be a better bet, but these silk drape beautifully and I wear them 18 hours a day. And they are warm! Happy day after turkey day.

Things, Things, Things

Art at the Pink House, a gallery in Saranac Lake, New York, has a bunch of my hand dyed and painted linen pillows. Since a couple have sold (!) I'm boxing these up and mailing replacements. And you think all I do is look at art these days?

Eco Dye Prints

A delivery stop to Cris Winters' Art at the Pink House caught Cris (hidden by the shirt) and her student unwrapping an eco dyed shirt she had made the day before my visit. A delight to see, the technique will be offered again by Cris. Just find her gallery in Saranac Lake.

Liquid Color

There is nothing to compare to silk's appeal. Adding color and pattern, and painting with thickened dye has been a rewarding challenge. Can't wait for cool weather to wear these scarves. I've made them 1/2 yard wide and 2 yards long. Five are in the gallery at Saranac Lake -- Art at the Pink House.

Pink Flowers at the Pink House

Cris Winters runs "Art at the Pink House" Gallery in Saranac Lake, New York. I'm happy to be asked to juror a show of multi-media work that will be on view starting next week. Bonus -- being in the Adirondacks at the height of summer.

Shipped Off As Well

A passle of pillows are now settled in to the Pink House Gallery waiting for the holiday open house. Made from lightweight canvas with screened printing, these were lightly quilted on the long arm. Might have to make some for moi.

Upcoming Workshop in Saranac Lake

This October 7th I'll be in Saranac Lake doing a workshop "Improv Sketches in Quilt Design" for Art at the Pink House. We'll be working small (I know, hard to imagine ME working small -- this one is 12" x 20") with tips and techniques for compositions that will be delightful small works. Join me!
