The second half of the Line, Shape, Setting virtual workshop is tomorrow. I've got a wall of parts, and at this point, it's not drivable. But it'll get some gas, a new set of wheels, and a tuneup. We'll see how it goes after the class. Definitely needs some shift work.

Line Work
Tuesday and Thursday is the Line, Shape, Setting virtual workshop. There are a couple of spots left. This little quilt has that thin pieced line that we will practice and then use in compositions with shape. Something fun for a winter's break.

End of the Day
The gloves are off, and so am I. The white lines were made with soy wax on a silkscreen. The color was scraped afterward. It'll be a great piece to use in the Line, Shape, Setting workshop in February 7 and 9. There's just a few spots left. www.patpauly.com/virtualclasses

Trusty at the Ready
Getting ready for a class means setting up camera, lights, cords, chairs, yikes. Somehow I got a burst shot of a hundred closeups of the old Bernina that is at counter height for quick seams. So, now I can delete them. Line, check; shape, check; setting, save for Friday.

Recurring Themes
Sunday's walk presented two of my favorite subjects -- lines and leaves. I often used both when I print fabric, and like to juxtapose a linear screen with one that has a definitive large shape, usually one of a leaf. I was drawn to this duo, and now once I write about it, know why is is so attractive.

On The Wall
This composition has been waiting for me to get past christmas, company, and a self-portrait. I've returned to this, and will update tomorrow. My goal is to finish the top so that I can travel with it to Napa in a couple of weeks.

Line Up
A quick sketch of line work. I've just used fabric and glue stick to fix to paper. This is such a simple study, but fun to see how the line width can vary. Might have to use this someday.
