Thoughts to Act On
The Iron Quilter Challenge presented the theme "A Disappearing Act" to the competition. Nancy Hicks made this sketch, which she fleshed out in fabric, for her piece. Not a big fan of sketching, I am always intrigued when I see someone else's drawing display freedom and expression.

Iron Quilter (Defending her Crown)
Kathi Everett returned to defend her crown, won last year in the Iron Quilter Contest, at the Genesee Valley Quilt Festival. This year she handed it to Ann Hawkins and graciously took second place. With a field of 18 quilters, Kathi proved her meddle. Might have something to do with that shibori dyed piece she used, right?
