Finding the Perfect Design

Wendy is using a window cut in a posterboard to find a composition. This is a great way to see the elements, to try out a design before trimming away the edges. I had a great day at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum for my Improv Sketches class.  Great class, small but mighty.

H for Have a Good Happening

At the Atlanta airport there is art everywhere. Everywhere.  I'm on route to my class at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum for Saturday. We'll be having fun without you -- unless you join us!

Details, Details, Golden Details

Yes, I'm getting the details set for my trip west. Golden, Colorado the first stop. There's plenty of room in the class on Saturday, so tell your buddies. We'll be doing improv quilting with a lot of design. Oregon from there. But first, a look at the Front Range.

Living With Blue

I live in a Blue State. So, maybe this is the start of the next series. I've finished the little piece, will take it with me later this week to show for my talk in Golden, Colorado at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. And again, for Eugene, Oregon. And then Hood River, Oregon. My Blue Companion.

Eight Pots Full

I don't need much to do what I do. Just two each (yellow, red, blue), one black, one chartreuse, and a gallon of print paste to thin. Thought I'd spend a few days making printed fabric to take with me to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum when I speak in October.

Rocky Mountain Quilt Modern

A lecture for the Colorado Quilting Council in the morning, was followed by a visit to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in Boulder for the afternoon. A hearty group from the Denver Modern Quilt Guild was on view with bold patterns and even bolder quilting. See for yourself.
