Textile Large Scale
Ann Clarke's exhibition 'Interior Landscapes' is at the Burchield-Penney Art Center in Buffalo, NY. We made a field trip to see these breathtaking fulled (knited then felted) works today. Here's a person to guage that large size. A close up detail shows the color changes. Wonderful textile art.

Great Graphics
Ann Clarke's fulled rug has fluid, drawn lines that mimic a scientist's plan. In my printing class, if it were vertual, I could show this image as a point of discussion. But in an in person class, not so easy. The perks, the pitfalls. Can't have everything.

Just When You Think
...it couldn't get better, the show of Ann Clarke's knitted and fulled rugs upstairs from the Q=-A=Q show at the Schweinfurth just blows me away. These are monumental and graphic rugs that are about time, age, and empathy. So, if you get to the quilt show, head upstairs for a not-to-miss treat.
