New England's Gem of a Museum

I spent time with works new and old at Lowell's New England Quilt Museum. I was fascinated with the "Summer Collection" with regional quilt groups' work, as well as the the museum's collection. This scrappy historic quilt caught my eye when I thought I was looking at a print, not the batting. 

 

Living on the Edge

A day's drive east takes me to the edge if coastline of Massachusetts. I've settled in to the class space at Pro Chem, mixed dyes and dropped off the suitcase with my sample fabrics. Not. That was my suitcase of clothes, so I'm sleeping in my samples tonight. This is an interesting start.
 

Last Glance

Before heading back home on Friday, I had a walk near Massachusetts's Horseneck Beach and the Audubon Bird Sanctuary there. I'll return to Pro Chem next year in April, and I'll make a point to see this salt marsh again, but with more time to take it all in.

In the Garden, for Amherst

This weekend I will be selling fabric, and a just this pattern for my "In the Garden" quilt. I teach this paper pieced quilt, and I bring this along to show it off. It is unusual for me, as my work is more abstract, but I do love that square in a square.
