Under My Nose

The first floor of the building where I have a studio is retail stores. One is a fabric and upholstery shop, and one I've not seen in years. Looking for a better Olfa cutter (they had one) I also haunted the aisles with discounted fabric. I've already many pieces never used at home, so I was not tempted. Bought the cutter.
 

Who Needs Scissors

A tool from one craft becomes the go-to for another. I've taken to using rotary cutters on patterns, this one for a blouse I've had to make. I make sure that I can see the blade, and not the guard, when I'm cutting, as it helps keep my cut accurate.

Line Up

To remember what goes where, line up the parts for the cutter as you take them apart. Then reassemble in reverse order. Just check that you bought the correct blade. Who ever heard of a "scoring blade"? Geesh.

Rotary Smile

A friend was here to learn how to cut with a rotary cutter. I made an inventory of what I had. Thought I'd lost the BIG one (my favorite) so bought a second. The "nose" is my first (1981) and is now vintage. The smile is made of  mostly oddballs, and I don't like the ones with the guards. I'll use them for paper.

A Long Cut

Carol starts the cut to join two sections of her piece from the weekend's class in Geneva. She was very capable and adept at piecing, and we all quietly cheered her progress. (Don't startle anyone who has a rotary cutter in their hand.)
