I've been given the honor of making a wedding cake, and so am becoming a beginner cake decorator. It's fun, challenging, surprising, and rewarding. But, that means I have a lot of cake nowadays. Oh, well.

Bow Ties Debut
What a fun group today for trying out the Bow Tie quilt class. Hostess Anne's studio space was perfect, and we got a few blocks made. But the skill at making those thin lines -- superb! My thanks to the Buffalo Modern Gals.

Peach of a Day
Michelle hand picked peaches in Delaware, and brought this cake as a grand finish to the graduation celebration (from college) this Sunday for my two daughters. Great to visit with "family" and remember how the years flew by.

Polka Dots in Full Length
I saw this in Montreal a couple of days ago and remembered that as a young girl my mom would make this kind of skirt cake. It seems to be hip even now. But its the polkas that I love. (Oh, now its a happy new year cake, too.)
