I Was at QuiltCon, Sort Of

It's hard to miss social media flooding works from QuiltCon. I was surprised that I had a piece there, sort of. Sharron Sarchet purchased this piece from my website (above as it appeared) added  lovely quilting for a wholecloth quilt. I'm not sure I got credit as designer or co-maker, but was seen an admired.
 

Should've Stayed Home

I added about two dozen new prints to my website store. I chose them because #1 I have many and #2 I have others. Some I know I shouldn't let go, and when they do, have a tinge of remorse. Then I remember reasons #1 and #2. Have fun, new owner!
 

Give Me More

My screens and prints from teaching at Art Quilt Midwest returned today thanks to FedEx. Which gave me incentive to add new prints (to my website store) I'd taken to Missouri as examples of techniques we'd use in class. My next in-person class is at Art Quilt Tahoe in early November. There's two spots left!
 

Newest Yards, And It's About Time

Shy of a dozen, I've added more yards to my website store. It's getting harder to let these go, and lordy knows I've way more than I can use in my life time. But still, I pick out those that will hang around the studio and maybe make the 'cut'. Then I add a stack for selling. But I really want to keep those, too.
 

At the Shop

I finally got 'round to adding more printed yards to my web site store. Thank you to all who heard my talk on Joe Cunningham's lecture series Saturday. I'm guessing that's why there was a flutter of yards leaving the store and heading off to new places to be used wonderfully. Now there's more; above is a selection. 
 

Wait No More

Just to prove that there is a longer daylight now, here's one full of happy points of light. I've been prodded to add some printed yards to my website store, and gathered a dozen to refresh the stock. So, enjoy the light you've earned this winter!
 

Demo Again

During the last printing workshop the question on working with silk came up. I use the same techniques, same chemistry, same methods as in printing cotton or linen. Silk is thinner, ands more wiggly. This I started printing in class, and finished last night. You can see it on the website "shop" under scarves. 
 

Time for More

I could save this and bring to my next workshop at QBL, but I thought the web store needed more. So it's been loaded and ready for you to see close up. I've more printing in the days ahead, especially when the days are so hot. Then I'm happy to be "cool" printing.
 

Add Scarves to the List

More and more scarves are going to live elsewhere, so I need to make more to add to the website store. 
And just when I thought I could work my longarm. 
 

Oh, For Time

Here's one detail of a piece of linen. There are just a couple of pieces left, and I think that if I had time and solitude, this would be the one I'd like to stitch. But that is not time I have, so this has gone. I'll have to make more. 

 

My Linen Fabric

The talented Ariane Zurcher embroiders improvisationally on linen, and has taken a shine to my printed and painted fabric. So, I made a line just for her and those who follow her work. It's on my webstore under "linen" of course. See what she does in her "On the Other Hand" YouTube channel.

 

Prints I Keep

Tonight I'll host a group from Northern Canada in my studio (virtually, 'natch) and we'll talk about printing, graphics, and techniques. This group is from the pieces that I save and use myself, but I share in class. No worry, there are many on my shop page on my web site. 

Take Two Revisited

A student in my upcoming Take Two class purchased two of my printed yards. She started with the one on the left, and matched it with selection that, as I was ready to ship it, just didn't have the zing that I would have liked. A few emails and a bit of matchmaking later, this is the duo that is on its way. Interventions!
 

Silk Silk Silk

Three new scarves are in the works, and soon I've got to get them on the website store. They are always crepe de chine silk, which is perfect for not itching. The toughest part is not keeping them for myself. The same problem I've got with my printed fabric. 
 

Finding a Fun Home

Judy came by yesterday to find a mate for a pillow she bought in March. Reporting back she said the two were good partners. And now I've got to make more pillows. So much for resting in the hammock.

Thank You Friends

This morning I bundled up fabric to go out tomorrow. I am always so thankful that people appreciate my work, are willing to use it, and encourage me to continue. These are friends indeed. Thank you.

Design Class Has Homework

But it's fun homework. Print this photo. Then we'll do something with it. It's a yard of my fabric, I'll add it to the web site's store for prints for sale. First I'll bungee chord it to my tree for Yard in the Yard. Meanwhile, print your homework!

Making More to Fill the Gaps

The first month I've had a "shop" on my website I am happy to say that half of the things have gone off to studios, workshops, or wardrobes. I've put up more new prints. Scarves are on the print table, that's what I've been doing today -- printing! Check them out -- www.patpauly.com/shop

Stacking New Prints

Well, thank you to all who saw my fabric on my web site "shop" and bought some for yourself. But now I've got to add more fabric on line. I'll use some of these, and spend next week making more. Good thing I'm not going anywhere!
