A well known architect, though one who's name I can't connect to the thought, said that window grids separated the view into distinct sections, each with their own composition. This struck me as I walked to the Rochester airport's ramp parking lot. Must have been those grids.

Making Marks
This piece of printed linen was made exactly as my cotton. The only step different is that I zig-zag stitch the cut sides before I soda soak the fabric. That way it doesn't unravel or fray too much in washing. The screen print is paper left from printing labels. I'll have to capture that in Tyvek to last longer.

Nest Eggs
The Schweinfurth's exhibition Made in New York decided to take my piece Nest Eggs for their 2022 show. This is a detail of the screen printing that became a whole cloth quilt. It'll be nice to see where it goes in the show, and the company it keeps.

Birthday Pearls
Once a year I mark the day. It's never the same, sometimes it's the pits, sometimes I wear pearls. This birthday was modest, so the only pearls were the ones we made in chalk. There's a gap in our ages, but we enjoy the same things.

In Person for Today
I've been meeting with a great group of printers for months, and today I was out of town, but near Karen Schulz. So, it was a chance to remote my meeting as well as fine tune the technique I call "print the table". We had a great time just being live, hopefully worked out some details, and had a good print day!

Just Hung Up
Another whole cloth hung up and ready to join the growing group of printed pieces. It's 42 x 42. Still without a name, but that will appear at some point. On to the next.

Packing for Santa Fe
Best way I could remember what I'm sending off ahead of time for my class in Santa Fe is to take a photo. Glue gun, sticks, long handled spoons, apron, gloves, etc. What would I do without that phone camera? My trusty note taker.

I've silk scarves to pack for my Santa Fe trip. And this just said "Hey, how's about monoprinting?" So, I heard that, and did.

The Screen That Won't Quit
Unbelievably, I ran out of white pfd fabric. So I quickly soda soaked some linen I had bought. The linen is printed with a texture on the front (how I bought it) so I'm printing the back. I'm using a glued screen that has been printed at least 50 times, and it's still viable. We should live so long.
