Williams-Sonoma's magnetic knife holder, a tremendous sale item a few years back, holds my pins. I love it, and I can toss those things from far away. Thought my dear readers would like this tip.

Wavelength

This "slide" of a developing bone came by way of my medical daughter. But, hey, its just like the fabric I am making. Ha! We must have our brains on the same wavelength. (Cue Van Morrison music.)

Lemons to Lemonade

Had some thickened dye leftover, so tried a different dye technique of slopping it on the dry fabric, then adding the soda ash. Washing now, will see the effect later. Might be another trick!

Carnival

Next in the 20 x 12 line-up is this "Carnival" based on Mardi-Gras. Don't they remind you of the tall drums? Like the conga-line...

Birthday Gifts

Thanks to all who sent gifts for today. I love these hydrangeas, and maybe there is a "leaf" quilt here in this composition. And I would be nowhere without my friends. Thanks for hanging in with me, too.

Milestones

Got this car new, for my birthday in fact, in 2004. Yesterday I hit 100,000 miles in it. Seen a lot, and hope to have a few more thousand yet. Here is to milestones, however they show up.

Birthday Dinner

The Restaurant -- Good Luck -- was last night's treat for a last look at being 58! On to 59, I say, and lets see what the year brings. Great vibes, this restaurant, as it is the sight of the old Fabrics and Findings, where I spent lots of $$$$ and lots of time.

The Lady with the Alligator Purse

Call for the doctor, call for the nurse, call for the lady with the alligator purse. Seen today at the antique mall for all of $59. Real (once) and in perfect shape, that is, of course, for a dead animal.

Love and Kisses

I could use these if I were signing those gigantic greeting cards, but no, these silkscreens are for the next printing session on my wonderful prepainted canvas. Don't you love that duct tape is made in colors? xxx for that.

Silkscreening

I've got some lightweight (pre-soaked in soda ash) canvas on to which I have added some direct dye.  Additions of silk screened images will take a few days to finish. Great mindless thing to do, definitely easier than composing!

Opposites Attract

Sunday is the day we send in the 20 x 12 pieces for Quilt2012. This is based on the theme "Opposites Attract" and I was trying to get that circle to do some attraction, electrically speaking. I was hoping that sparks would fly.
