Not Yet a Month

Almost a month from the time I moved in, and I have almost a complete set of cabinets. We toasted, my gardening friends and I, and enjoyed the cool night air -- see the open window? -- and knew that this room and all the rest would become a great space in which to live.

    You are seeing the old fakecherry countertop that I inherited with the kitchen. I took my power saw and cut it into pieces, removed the existing old cabinets, and then popped the old one back on, replumbed the sink (with the help of Mary), and now am waiting for the new laminate top. I chose Wilsonart "Sable Soapstone" for the color. Wish I could have REAL soapstone, but this is just fine.

    looking good. i would love to toss my 50's special plywood, painted cupboards for an Ikea redo. Plumbing? Your brave
