Design Camp

Hosted by the Textile Center in Minneapolis, my workshop continues with more and more color bathing the walls. Cyndi has made a large "blog" and is about to cut it into squares. I love design camp, seeing new combinations and the talent to make the works.

And We Have Liftoff!

The Textile Center is my week here, and we're off to a great start. There's oodles of questions, rapid fire, and way ahead of me. It's a great group of people, and yes, we work hard. But I think it's worth it. Tomorrow is more topped with more.

Natural Forms

The Textile Center in Minneapolis is hosting me for a week of design and sewing I'm calling "Design Camp". Two topics I'll cover are line and shape. My walk had this lovely composition show up, now all I want to do is add that seed pod shape, and drop in lines. My found nature will have to do, and that's fine.

An Improvement Over Yesterday

Well, I make it and then I break it -- my homework for tomorrow. I took my blob apart and reassembled it. This is not the final set. I've got to move these around at least ten more times till I'm satisfied. And, we'll be doing this at the Textile Center in Minneapolis next month, should you want to have fun with me there.

Back to the Past

Ten days ago I posted a crumpled "first quilt". It wasn't one I made, or had in my family, but the first I purchased on my route from Minnesota to Rochester, NY in 1981. The pattern is "Ocean Waves", probably made after 1930. I'll be back in Minneapolis April 17 - 21; lecture April 20.
