"The Apple Doesn't Fall Far" is now on exhibit in the Made in New York show at the Schweinfurth. Since I couldn't find an appropriate April Fool's joke, I thought I'd present a sober reality -- this will be going to a new home. That's the best April First's non-joke news I could have gotten.

Made in New York
Opening tonight was the Made in New York exhibit at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York. Many very good pieces here, so I'm in good company. This is "The Apple Doesn't Fall Far" and is a whole cloth print. Fiber was in great acceptance in this show, and a pleasure to see.

Details Tell All
Susan Griffith's work "big" at the Made in New York exhibition intrigued me. The collage held layers of printed imagery and drawn marks that united for a large and graphic effect. I'd say it was my favorite piece there

Made in New York
Helen May showed up in one of my classes. She made some bold prints, and established her own style. This is a detail of a piece Helen made that I saw yesterday at the Schweinfurth's "Made in New York" exhibit. What fun to see this in person. You go, Helen!

Whole Cloth
"Nest Eggs" is here with the scale of people, walls and depth. It is printed on one piece of cotton with silkscreens. It's quilted, faced, and has a hanging strip, finishing at 42" x 42". It's happy to be seen with . all media here at the Made in New York exbibit.

Made in New York
Made in New York had 800+ entries, of which some 70 chosen. My "Next Eggs" was one (center of pic). The gallery was packed with artists from across the state. I'm holding company with wood, fiber, glass, ceramics, oils, photography, printmaking, and much more. Visit the Schweinfurth to see this show. And, their July quilt retreat Quilting By the Lake has me teaching two one week classes. Find me!

Nest Eggs
The Schweinfurth's exhibition Made in New York decided to take my piece Nest Eggs for their 2022 show. This is a detail of the screen printing that became a whole cloth quilt. It'll be nice to see where it goes in the show, and the company it keeps.

Made In New York
Schweinfurth Art Center's annual exhibition "Made in New York" never dissapoints. This large painting "Here" by Carole D'Inverno felt like a cousin. Same family of large, painting on cloth, mounted to the wall with grommets hanging freely. Take a virtual tour (it's fun!) https://schweinfurthartcenter.org/made-in-ny-2021/

Stones with Fealing
Or stones that felt, more clearly. This sculpture "Funeral Cairn"by Joy Muller-McCoola at the Schweinfurth's Made in New York show is made with felted stones. It was all I could do to not touch it, just to feel the weight.

Made in New York
Made in New York is an annual art exhibition held in Auburn, New York. This photograph "Blue Ribbon Winner, Carter Stanton, Otsego County Fair" by Wesley Bernard included one of the only artists statements that spoke of the artist's selfless work. His project "Blue Ribbon" portrays young farmers who raise and show their livestock. Wish the other works on view held more gratitude and thought.

Company Wanted
The current exhibition at the Schweinfurth "Made in New York" has my work on the left. All alone, waiting for company. Which it got today when I and friends visited the exhibit. Grade A to the staff for exhibition well done with a lot of space for each object, well lit, and each object placed with regard to the next piece.

More Anxiety
Mary Giehl's work "The Question is Why" at the Schweinfurth's exhibition Made in New York is made of 250 crocheted flowers, each representing 1000 people. There are 250,000 people killed each year from the AK47. Her strong statement was awarded second place.

Once in a Blue Moon Crowd
The Schweinfurth's exhibition "Made in New York" opened tonight and my work "Once in a Blue Moon" is getting noticed. A splendid show of diverse media, I was in good company. A lovely meal afterward with friends, a quiet ride home, and now to bed.

Mother's Painful Joy
Noma Bliss's piece "A Mother's Painful Joy" caught my attention at the Made in New York Exhibition Friday. Part of her Artist Statement: "As she became more distressed, my drawings came to the conclusion that she was her own misery." Powerful statement, and on Mother's Day, food for thought.

Hanging Out
Had to check in on my work that is now on exhibit in the "Made in New York" exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center. Tonight was an event marking the 35th Anniversary of the center. "Trifold 2" is at the left of the door.

I've Got the Long View
Today's opening of "Made in New York" at the Schweinfurth Art Center was packed. My work The Easy Life is seen from waaaay across the gallery on the far wall. The show has every kind of medium from silver, to wood, to photography, to bookmaking (printing), and in between. I love the mix.
