Some of the prints I made along side the class of Australian printers were added to my website store. Color is strong, some were bumped with extra strength after proofing them against the color temperature of the wintertime studio. Testing the print mix strength is a must to know what you'll get. I want color!

Substitute Garden
I think that if my blossoms are deer attacked, I can use my own brand of AI (Artistic Insight) to make some of my own. And not have to fight the onslaught of predators on my natural landscape. I have printed blossoms! (part of my online fabric offerings).

Full Moon
I should really highlight my entire patch of marvelous daylilies that were decimated by deer (I'll imagine it was a BUCK) but that would bring tears. Instead feast on these two prints using a soy wax screen. Think shirt, skirt, dress, or OK, a great frame for a kid's quilts. And the kid can be a grown-up. Happy full moon,

Choosing Companions
I'd a lovely chat with someone who wanted to purchase fabric on my website. A first for me! Made me think on how I pick companions. My rule of thumb is that they either slide together and are 'seamless' or distinct from each other so that no matter how I combine the cuts, the piecing shows. So, show or no.

In the Garden
More than a dozen years ago I drafted this pattern for a paper pieced raffle quilt. That quilt was about 8' square, this is about 5' square. I no longer use paper piecing for quilt design, but those who do love this effect. I've added the pattern to my website store. If that's your thing, you might like "In the Garden".

Keeping Ahead
Last night I added a dozen pieces of printed fabric to my website 'shop' and today of that group, almost all are gone. Here I thought I was keeping ahead of the traffic, seems I need to steer around and get more to add. So, thanks to those who found ones they liked, and now I've got to make more.

Print Studio
I had a request for a 'circle' scarf, so I had to get myself in the wet studio and do some work. She choose this one, which I almost kept for myself, but glad I didn't. I'd like to hold all of them, in fact. There are more on the website store, and I'll bring some with me to Art Quilt Midwest at the end of the month.

Screen Time
I've got some screen time waiting for me, and the silk fabric is in. Two kinds of silk scarves are on my table for next week, one that is a round and 60" long, the other a large 42" square. I know we're heading into hot weather, but my calendar calls this task before it heats up.

Cheap Model
How to show off these square scarves was answered by my lovely porcelain head. She works overtime, needs no salary, and keeps her pose. These are on my website shop, are each about 40" square, and are all one-of-a-kind made of crepe di chine silk. Yes, I kept one for myself. Gifting me first!

Silk to Make You Feel Dreamy
I've made a handful of printed silk scarves to take to Art Quilt Tahoe. Last time it snowed, so I'll be prepared. My latest twist is that these are square, and the one I'm keeping -- and love -- is so much fun to wear. If only I could keep them all. When I return, I'll make some for the website store. Promise.

Technique and Difference
Let's circle back to the Schweinfurth's surface design show that is ending soon. The top is Nancy Crow's monoprints. The bottom, mine (unquilted). The gestural hand is the charm of the mark. I have no intention to copy Nancy's work, but look to vary the technique so that it reads as mine.

Hunter's Moon
The clear sky holds that glorious supermoon still can't be captured by my meager camera lens. So, here is a detail of a piece I've printed. Many who have taken my printing class know this is a monoprint because the screen prints is drawn through.

Got Them Blues
I've added some blue prints to my web store, and am always conflicted on whether I should keep all of them or not. This one is kinda nice just as it is. But then, there are so many prints that would work against it for contrast. I see so much imagery here. Like cellophane wrappers at the basket bin at holidays.

Happy Solstice
This will have to be the stand-in for the earth's rotation from the darkest day of the year, on to the increase in daylight (it's my silk scarf, of course) and a bookmark for the winter solstice. If there's a party, go for it.

Prints in the Store
Restocked and looking a bit chipper, my website store now has a dozen more scarves, and a dozen new yards of printed cotton. Yes, once the deck is cleared from the fashion frenzy, items can now jump over to the website store. You know -- www.patpauly.com/shop

Wreath Worthy
You know it's time to hang a wreath around your neck when the weather dips below 35. And the wind blows, and you even need gloves. These are the newest scarves to make it on my web site, and in time, I should say. I'd gift them all to me, if I could, but that wouldn't be the spirit, would it?

Can You Stand 20 More?
I finally gathered the fabric yards that I sell, had them pose for photos, loaded them on the website store and got them ready for you. Some will be perfect for the class "Within The Frame" and some will be just perfect to have in the next quilt. Or maybe you just want to see what's new. www.patpauly.com/shop

When the Book Matches the Art
Wendy Marks is the RIT University Gallery's director and takes a look at the book I've finished. I've got this on my website in the shop section under Books. You might want one, and it's the easiest way to have one mailed. Twenty color pages, a bit of description, that's it.

You Know That List
I keep lists. Many. Items sometimes get scratched off, many just jump on to the next list. Photographing the next batch of prints for the web site store finally got finished. Check. Now to get the on the site named an numbered.

Taking Care of Fabrics
I finally got around to loading more printed yards of my fabric yesterday to my website shop. This is what I start my photo shoot with -- so that I can track the pieces. I think this means I've put up 451 pieces on the site. I think. Who can keep a list? Ha!
