The Last Dance

For week 52 of Quilt 2012, I took time today to spend with "The Last Dance". Working on these sketches (just 20" x 12") has taught me a tremendous amount. Thank you, Jeanne, for doing that blog.

The Road Travelled

Quilt 2012 got my attention (and work) this week. I have sadly neglected to add my pieces, but found some time to do this one. Remember -- it is just 20" x 12". And it is called "The Road Travelled."

Summer Solstice

Today's post to Quilt 2012 is this little piece. It is just a big fat sun moving across the sky. I have used a whole cloth for this, and varied the quilting thread to change the interior color of the circle.

Single Vision

This week's 2012 challenge is here, with that definite solo circle. I love the drip like tears, and had fun quilting this. And great theme -- Solo Vision. Just need to finish and bind.

All That Jazz

In honor of the upcoming Jazz Festival in downtown Rochester, here is this week's challenge for Quilt 2012. I liked the march of those clef-like figures and the sweep of the baton. Well, that is for classical music, but I will be those jazz musicians put in a few hours practicing the classics.

Out on a Limb

This week's contribution to Quilt2012 is this piece. It was inspired by my robin's nest outside the door. Hope you can see the eggs in the nest and the warning sign to stay back.

Fading Away

The most recent challenge for quilt 2012 uses "Memory" as the theme. "Fading Away"  is about how something starts bright, then dims. And on Memorial Day, here's to my father who served along thousands more during the war. He was lucky to make it home.

Tightly Wound

Answering the challenge to make a piece 12" x 20" for the Quilt2012 blog (using the theme "Tightly Wound") is this little quilt. I am trying to explore that white space. A challenge for someone who loves saturated color, for sure.

Cinco De Meyo

This is the little 12" x 20" piece that answered the challenge for this week themed "Cinco de Meyo" and I could not help to think about what someone called it "Drink-o de Meyo" and so these just look like olives to me. Martini anyone?

Earth Day Layers

Since it is Earth Day, here is a detail of "Strata" that is this week's entry for the Quilt 2012 challenge. I manage to add to this group each week, and it is no mean task! Check out the others, as well as the whole shot of mine at http://www.quilt2012.blogspot.com/

Being a Girl

Next up for the challenge Quilt 2012.  Want to see it finished and all those pesky thread ends tucked back? check  http://www.quilt2012.blogspot.com/. but not till Sunday night. The theme is International Women's Day. I think this is just girlie.

Carnival

Next in the 20 x 12 line-up is this "Carnival" based on Mardi-Gras. Don't they remind you of the tall drums? Like the conga-line...

Dragons

Well, here is this week's piece "White Dragon / Silver Dragon". I can't tell if the dragon in my life is white (good, caring and sensitive) or silver (bad, small but intelligent) so in this piece they are duking it out. This is all of 20" x 12"and part of the Quilt 2012 challenge.
