Eat Your Veggies

Chris Wickert brought this gem of a quilt to the Genesee Valley Quilt Club today. What I love is the perfect bow that ties the beets (or radishes?) together. All is perfect here, placement, color, quilting. Her quilts are ones that are the benchmark for fantastic quilting.

Good Looking

And "looking good". Chris Wickert is both. We got to drool over her latest piece, inspired by her oriental rug. This quilt is all silk, with astounding and beautiful hand applique. No doubt you may see it with a big fat ribbon at a national show. I do appreciate the handwork; and Chris is swell, too.

Winning Friends (and Influencing People)

Chris Wickert, a fellow quilter from Rochester, New York, won Best of Show at tonight's event at the Vermont Quilt Festival. I got to hold the bag of roses, and she was thrilled to be chosen. I would say an honor well deserved. When you see her, congratulate her.
