It's Not Easy

I'm returning to my Geelong Week to talk briefly about Carol's piece that she made using three pieces of fabric. It was so dynamic, and not easy. It did grow and form and become. And I hope will be the start of many more explorations for her.

What It is All About

Yes we come together for a week, and yes we work hard to learn to advance out skills, and yes we invest time and energy. But we share and share and share. With classmates, with strangers, with close friends. I did, my students did, and now you know too.

They All Celebrated

At the last evening of our week all classes held an impromptu exhibition of work. From felt, to gold embroidery to indigo dyeing and raffia weaving there were displays of fine work and craft. There was even a fashion show that wove between our improv quilt works. Good night Geelong Fibre Forum 2019, it was swell.

Time for My Lecture

They saved me for last, but I can say that all stayed awake. The Geelong Fiber Forum has a myriad of classes in collage, dressmaking, metal works, and dyeing. So, this Abstract Contemporary Quilt Form was of great interest. The Aussies are a load of fun!

Art Quilt Australia

Such good timing to be in Geelong, Australia at the same time as Art Quilt Australia. A strong group of art quilts from across the country were beautifully exhibited. Many names were familiar to me from other exhibits and meetings. Just a treat for my mid-week teaching at Fiber Forum.

Landing at Fibre Forum in Geelong

I'd no idea this school was so beautiful, historic, and charming. My residence is at left, the dining hall to the right. With a day of class behind me, I can see that we can cover a massive amount of improv design. I love this!

I've Got the Beautiful Money

I'm packed and on my way to Australia. If the country is anything like its money, it should be spectacular, colorful, and full of fun. There's room left in my class for the Geelong Fibre Forum 2019 for Sept 30 - October 4. But the other groups I'm seeing are full. Find me!

Heading to Australia in Fall 2019

In the fall of 2019 (that's a year and a bit from now) I'll be teaching at the Geelong Fibre Forum from September 29 to October 5. As I've got my flight covered getting to Australia, I'm looking to teach other places within a plane's hop. Know anyone who would love to have me? That's for 2019.
