Happy Wave in the Breeze

Today's yard in the yard is waving happy because I've now got a full house for my October virtual printing class. That means I'll have to add one in November.  Maybe November 9 - 13.  I'd love to have a class for those who've already taken a class. To take it up a notch. Go Big, Go Bold, or Start with Dark.

What I Learn from Class

Teaching leads me to discover methods of printing that I overlook. After my usual methods are set out to explore, I try things that might fit with a particular student's need. So, I've gotten out a large wallpaper pasting brush to add texture, and brushed over a hot glue drawing for this effect.

In the Know

Folks in my Virtual Print know how I got this print. On a background that had "dried" I screen printed on top. It's through the wash and ready to use. The others are various prints, waiting for attention on my design wall.

Circle Back

Demo examples are always fun to return to and decide what I need to add to the yard to make a good composition. Something of a challenge, but it's better the more times that choice is made to rearrange or add. But, new batch of dyes needed. Tomorrow's list!

My Homework

Our fourth day of Virtual Print closed with my advise to print more, print large, and print again. And I thought it was good for me to head as well. So, I pulled a few prints for tomorrow's show and tell. Last day, and still lots to do.

Screen Printing

Ah, the myriad ways to make a screen for printing. These are a few soy wax examples, and the proofing of the screens. Brushes, tape, paper, stamps, noodles and a few other ideas for printing with a silk screen were part of Virtual Print today.

Perks of the Job

As we virtually print, I demonstrate various techniques. So when I get a group where I've already experimented, I take liberty  to try out new ways to add graphics. This has presented me with many new ideas for prints, a real bonus.

Virtually Ready

I've never seen this part of the studio so cleared away and ready for company. But my Virtual Print class needed  to "visit" and hang out for the week. No one was missing from Zoom, all were ready and willing, and I had a fine fine day. Tomorrow it can only get better!

Chill Out Solstice

The longest day calls for some break in the action. And beside, I'm spoiling you all with videos. Tomorrow is set-up day for Virtual Print and there'll be no lazing about then. Happy Solstice!
