Up Close on Leaves
Thought you'd like to see details of the work. These go in the folder for the work and are used should an exhibition entry request a detail shot. I try to show processes, but also a well edited and well composed image. It matters that the detail shot is pleasingly composed. Top, yes; bottom, not so much.

Details
I've photographed a piece now in my new studio. I'm trying to get detail shots, and this one won't make it for submission. Oh, the color is fine, and the composition all right. And I think it shows the stitching and print quality. But it is square. And I'd rather show as much as I can in a horizontal. Redo!

Photography Opening at Gallery R
Doug Manchee's work took me back many years to my work in photography. His "portraits" of the apparatus needed to print photos back in the day, were beautifully taken and gave each object, from a dryer fan to a sponge, dignity and beauty. Go see the show "Alchemic Elegy" if you are in Rochester.
