Field Trip to Kimono Exhibit
There is currently on view an exhibition of exquisitely made kimono by Itchiku Kubota. Each is precious; many are part of a series, letting the design flow from one to the other. If you're near Utica, New York, visit the Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute. On till September 16th.

Quilt for a Full Moon
Today at the Munson Williams Proctor Institute to see the quilt exhibition there. Made in 1922, this quilt looks totally black, but my camera shows the variation in the cloth. The stand-in for tonight's full moon, this pitch dark work suggest (to me) the stars in the night sky.
