In a new house, with a new view, a new walk, and a day to reflect on that point on the map of this country I'm in. This Fourth seems very different, not worthy of celebrating independence when so many rights are gone and more are in danger of loss. So, this walk in my new country in my new country.

Happy Fireworks
I could only hear the fireworks, so I'll imagine that they looked like this. Those who know my workshops will be conditioned to say -- hey, ain't that a center medallion? -- and they'd be right. Happy Fourth.

Happy Fourth on the Seventh
Why is so much time packed into each day? It was only when I wheeled out my garbage can tonight that I realized our pickup would be a day later because of the Fourth. Was that just a couple of days ago? (I wheeled it back.) How is time speeding by?

It Happens on the Fourth
Somewhere, I need to see the lights. This vantage, from a boat docked on the Genesee River in the heart of downtown Rochester, was perfect. Happy Fourth all!
