Screen Time

It's time to crank up the hot water to "melt" (150 F) and hose down the screens I'll take with me next week. I've a standard utility sink outfitted with a typical kitchen faucet with a pull-out sprayer. The small additional force and the hot water make short work of washing out the soy wax and thickened dye. 
 

Print Club of Rochester

The exhibtion opening of the Print Club of Rochester at RIT had extras for the curious -- a print fair! Richard Kegler is a masterful printer who shared the portfolio of the alphabet as abstracted in color and form. What a treat to see these graphics in person. The exhibition is up till July 20th. 
 

Midway in the Day

Today was packed with highs and lows, and somewhere in there was the beautiful garden at George Eastman's house. I went with a long-ago friend who was in town. What a great time, although short, to see a bit of each other and a bit of this garden.
 

Refrigerator Art

Postcards sized things came in the mail. In an envelope, as there is no area for an address. I'll be in an exhibit at the Main Street Arts gallery in Clifton Springs from July 27 to September 4. Come on by! 
 

Garden of Delight

A gift from a dear friend, this clematis returns in its loveliness again, and I'm grateful to have this connection. Many of the plants I have are gifts, some from ones from friends who have passed on. Time and circumstances have kept me from tending this garden, but these plants continue nevertheless.
 

Waiting for an Appointment

A neatened studio, finished quilts hung, stuff put away were all time spent. My appointment was not to be seen, so there's a lesson in direct contact with prospective clients, and the effort to meet. Factor that in to the cost of the work. The wait time. And the phrase "time spent" takes on a heavier meaning.
 

Where I'll Be

This week is a nine day Rochester International Music Festival. I'm trying to get in as much as I can. This is Kilborn Hall, part of the Eastman School of Music. Each venue is choice, but this is my fav. All the talent knocks you out. Lucky me.
 

Before and After

I can't remember if I'd added the beginning and ending of the quilt Joe Cunningham made for the Cahoon Museum. While Joe and Seda Tarek worked on the cherry picker, I layed down the lower 12 feet of spinnaker nylon. Staples did the job. It'll be up till mid-September.
 

Meet Julie Silber

Part of the quilt extravatanza for this summer's at the Cahoon Museum of Art is an exhibit of Julie Silber's collection of old and new quilts. The works are a delight, always hold a great story, and have a soul. Like Julie herself, I might add. It was great to spend time with Julie, go visit this summer in Cotuit, Mass.
 

June's Full Moon

You know me and the full moon. Can't ever get a good image from home, but gosh, on the Cape, no problemo. So, here's the "every small town pseudo town square" where we had dinner Tuesday. Full enough for me!
 

The Stuff Inside

All the outside wrapped, I checked out the inside of the Cahoon Museum and Joe Cunningham's solo exhibit. It's a powerhouse of piecing, and a heavy dose of current events. If you find yourself on Cape Cod this summer, stop and see it up close. And there is Julie Silber's exhibit of 200 years of quilts there too.
