Pinteresting
Williams-Sonoma's magnetic knife holder, a tremendous sale item a few years back, holds my pins. I love it, and I can toss those things from far away. Thought my dear readers would like this tip.

Wavelength
This "slide" of a developing bone came by way of my medical daughter. But, hey, its just like the fabric I am making. Ha! We must have our brains on the same wavelength. (Cue Van Morrison music.)

Lemons to Lemonade
Had some thickened dye leftover, so tried a different dye technique of slopping it on the dry fabric, then adding the soda ash. Washing now, will see the effect later. Might be another trick!

Carnival
Next in the 20 x 12 line-up is this "Carnival" based on Mardi-Gras. Don't they remind you of the tall drums? Like the conga-line...

Birthday Gifts
Thanks to all who sent gifts for today. I love these hydrangeas, and maybe there is a "leaf" quilt here in this composition. And I would be nowhere without my friends. Thanks for hanging in with me, too.

Milestones
Got this car new, for my birthday in fact, in 2004. Yesterday I hit 100,000 miles in it. Seen a lot, and hope to have a few more thousand yet. Here is to milestones, however they show up.

Birthday Dinner
The Restaurant -- Good Luck -- was last night's treat for a last look at being 58! On to 59, I say, and lets see what the year brings. Great vibes, this restaurant, as it is the sight of the old Fabrics and Findings, where I spent lots of $$$$ and lots of time.

The Lady with the Alligator Purse
Call for the doctor, call for the nurse, call for the lady with the alligator purse. Seen today at the antique mall for all of $59. Real (once) and in perfect shape, that is, of course, for a dead animal.

Love and Kisses
I could use these if I were signing those gigantic greeting cards, but no, these silkscreens are for the next printing session on my wonderful prepainted canvas. Don't you love that duct tape is made in colors? xxx for that.

Fabric and Stitch
More from Priscilla's stock of beautiful textiles. This is a scarf made from two silk pieces that have running stitches the length of the work. It is hard to imagine making it, but oh, so lovely to have in your collection. I love this paisley-type squiggle.

Giving to Yourself
My friend Priscilla Kibbee recently traveled to India. She treated herself to this intricate and stunning fiber piece. I think she deserves it. And am glad she shared her good fortune with me to enjoy as well.

Going Fur Enough
This is a double fur day here. Drizzle, rain, gray. But we are on the last half of the month of February. Got to get better, right? Meanwhile, dontcha love them spots?

Three from One Pot
Three yards that shared a dye pot. I stack them like a parfait, and add dye with each addition. I will sell these this April 13 & 14 at the Lake to Lake Quilt Show in Rushville, New York. Come find me!

Old Dog, New Tricks
An old piece was cut apart and dyed. You can see on the right the last remaining section. It is in the dye pot now, and tonight I will wash it and start to rework this composition. With age comes wisdom? Or just another solution to change.

Winter Fashion Week
Might be fashion week in NYC, but here we are adding chapeaus of snow. Add in gloves and a scarf, and you are good to go.
Social Networking
That's the name of this piece, in response to Jeanne Simpson's Quilt 2012 blog. It is, of course, 20" x 12". And consider this my post for yesterday! Downton Drama carried me away.

Waiting for Winter
Enough with the green. We needed this statement, so we can all relax and enjoy the break from that weird weather. Wreally.

Post Card Follies
I was out at Marcia's today and we designed the back to a postcard she will be sending out this spring. I love letterforms; reminds me of those classes in graphics where we cut and pasted literally on to board. Ah, the good 'ol days.

Flying Solo
You have seen this in draft stages, here it is finished, signed, and ready to hang. Based on a challenge to channel Amelia Earhart's last journey, this is the cockpit and horizon ahead. Figuratively speaking! It is about 24" x 40".

Size Matters
Cleaning out boxes had me come across this that fit for (I think) two days. My newborn was not quite newborn size. Daughter #2 did not fit in it for even an hour. Though I am glad and love what they grew in to, it is still fun to remember what they started out with.

Old Top Seeks New Home
This old top, which is in excellent shape, is up for sale (for $50) at the Genesee Valley Quilt Club's sale table (thanks, Bev!) Thursday morning at the meeting. I have a few more, and some antique blocks that would love a new home. But this is lovely.

Toys for the Dye Pot
Here is the case where you musn't throw away all those bit and bobs hanging around the studio -- might be useful for dyeing! Here are two pieces with resitance for the dye. Get it? Pieces and resistance. Ha!

Man the Dyepots!
A very boring photo for you all. But wonderful fabrics are in the works, and I can now promise PURPLE! How exciting is that? This summer and fall I will have more great fabrics to sell, if I don't use them for moi first.

Hanging Around
What a treat to have the pros install your work. This is "Line Item" going up at The Gables for a show opening next week. There are three artists, and my work is the first to great you.

Work Rooms
You can make anything if you have the right tools. I always believed that. This is a look at a metal workshop. For me, my tools are simpler, but no less important. But if I had to make a whopping gear, I would work here.

Groundhog Day
The sun comes out, the groundhog leaves her hole, she sees more of the same, only with a shadow. Happy Ground Hog Day! This is the week's piece for Quilt 2012. Remember? It is only 12" x 20".

Cutting a Shape
I wanted a certain shape for my groundhog's hole, so I have cut it from freezer paper, ironed it to the backside. I then will cut the shape just a bit smaller, clip the curves, iron it using the edge of the freezer paper to guide, and viola (or violin) a hole for me to fill!
