Print Train Coming Through

We should have had that soul train song track playing while the prints moved from table to clothesline, but we didn't. It was enough fun just to see what these two were cooking up. And the rest of us took notes and printed more.
 

Longest Day to Print

A great way to spend the longest day of the year is by printing. Though Suzanne hadn't said the sunshine (that was ample today) was the inspiration for this print, it certainly could have been. More printing tomorrow at Pro Chemical and Dye in Fall River, Mass.
 

Waiting At Home

These layered prints wait for me to give them the final thumbs up or down. I'll be adding more to my website store in a week or so, as well as quilting some as whole cloths. 
 

Creepy

Enring my room, I saw the TV was already on with a "welcome PAT" message as a screen saver. Let's see how much they watch me. Starting tomorrow with a class at Pro Chem, one of my favorite places. 
 

Always the Right Glove

Getting ready to head over to Pro Chemical and Dye tomorrow means packing. And from this line-up, I need the left hands. You can find me in two more spots this summer on the East Coast. One is Quilting By the Lake in July, and the other Hudson River Valley Workshops in August. Both printing.
 

Glue Report

Well, sad to say that the glue experiment has hit a snag. Snafu. Obstacle. I've printed a silk scarf where the glue started to break down (I think because the line was so small) and has left particles of glue stuck to the silk -- after being in water all day to wash and rinse. Back to the drawing board.
 

Phew -- Glue!

It worked well, that glue screen. I've got it printed and through the washout in a day, just to see if it was as nice as I'd thought. I cut the mixing blue with print paste to lighten, added a border, and like this as a workable background. It's on the wall hanging out.
 

Itchin

I can't wait till this glue dries and I can try it out in a print. I'm using Elmer's washable school glue, and from other tries, it may or may not wash out completely. So, I've got a sacrificial screen to use. Note that I've left off taping the screen. It works, just differently from the taped ones.
 

Strawberry Moon, Not

You know by now that my humble camera can't capture the REAL moon, so you'll find this substitute for the strawberry moon in my gardenscape. I'm home for a week and loving my verdant surroundings. Now there is weeding to do!
 

Red for Effect

Part of a cut paper work at the Columbus Museum of Art and Design, the red makes a definite statement. I'm interested in the cut line for examples of design elements for cutting Tyvek stencils for printing. Or I could brush soy wax on the silkscreen with the repeated elements. That tree is gorgeous. 
 

Being At School

At QSDS we stay on the Columbus College of Art and Design campus. We pass installations, galleries, experimental art, and design tools on our way to and from our class. It rubs off. Which is what that is supposed to do. To jump-start new ideas, to find links to try in our own endeavors.
