And good looking! Quilts going on the wall and taking over the gallery. Years worth of work, and a treat to have such a wonderful space at the Arts Center Gallery  at Nazareth College in Rochester. Opens Friday, now to get some champagne!

Perfect Day for a Wedding

Sun does not have to shine, all you need is a sturdy tent and good friends. So, cheers to those who commit! This photo from yesterday's festivities where it rained off an on. Mostly on. Maybe that will be a sign of good and generous fortune.

No Matter How You Slice It

This is a sculpture made if neon rings. If taken all together, these parts form the whole body, albiet one very "light" body with little weight. That it is seen in repose makes is a little less scary, like a sleeping giant. Keeps that theme of bits and pieces, or just a slice of life. Seen in Groningen, The Netherlands.

Rat Races

Okay, so maybe they are just cute little mice, but they are all lined up waiting for the starter's gun. Which is just like me, waiting for my project to start. One week to go, then its -- BANG -- I'm off to the opening.

Being Remembered

You might be one famous doctor, like the person depicted in this bust, but most likely to be remembered you need to have someone honor your name. Which is not to say that I want people to make art work like mine, but maybe just to remember that I did in fact make art once.

First Summer Day

Look back and then look in real time. You might long for yesteday, but today is right now. (This is the view out of my studio, six months ago.) Happy Solstice!

Last Chance

Seems like the opening was just yesterday, and now this gem of a show will be disassembled next Monday. So, I will have to take one last look at these new and old friends. Just to see again how gifted these artists are with this flulid medium. Art Quilts -- who would have thought? They are in Rochester, New York at Booksmart Studio.

Pieces of Parallax

An installation shot of "Parallax / Views of Contemporary Quilt Artists" where this exhibit will be on view here in Rochester, New York until June 25. Then the nineteen works disperse and return to be seen around the globe. What a thrill to be able to work with such talented artists, to put this show together.

Resistance (or lack thereof)

Sometimes it helps to just piece work without the distraction or addition or beauty of color and pattern. Not something I normally do, but if told, I will do it. So, makes you wonder why I do things I am told to do without wanting to do them. That would be the opposite of resitance. Right?

Eating Cereal

So, instead of beloved ice cream, I have late night cereal. And I suppose in a perfect world, it could be just as architectural as this. All marching down the path, spoons ready. But I would have to have cherrios.

Hair Bands

I guess sometimes you just have to go with what you are given. Like making friends with unlikely companions. Or, maybe just helping to warm up for the day.

One Handed

Okay, so discharge day started a bit one-sided. Or one handed. Just waiting to meet the matches. And you know they would be all right(s).

Threats

Since this Kousa dogwood was not doing well, I made threats to remove this tree and replace it. But lazy took over, and now all is wonderful.

Seen and Heard was taken

So, the beginning. Just to offer a look, a listen, a glance. To connect, to prod, to shake it up a bit. And just for the fun of it all.
