Dyed in the Wool

A friend gave me a handful of beautiful white wool, and asked me to experiment with dying it along with my cotton. The feel is absolutely beautiful -- almost like butter. I've tried some presoaking in soda ash with silkscreening. I've more to find out. Tell you later.

  1. I dye wool all the time for rug hooking, and use acid dyes and citric acid. There's another whole group of wool dyers out there in Internet land who are just as obsessed as cotton dyers!

    1. Oh, thanks for the tip on dyes specific to wool. Yes, I know that -- but this friend wanted to see what would happen if I use the same chemicals and dye that I use on cotton. Just a little experiment, I guess.
