Monoprinting on the Line

Making these is so much fun. I am using hand dyed fabric that was soaked in soda ash, then printed with thickened dye. I'll be doing this for the October workshop at the Schweinfurth. But for now, these will be up for grabs at the GVQC quilt show in early June.

  1. WOW! I love the one on the left. How big are these pieces?

  2. Paula, this is a generous yard of fabric about 42" wide. But after washing out, it is ho-hum. I think the dye was exhausted, and I'll try it again with straight black. The dark was what was so compelling, so might as well just go dark. Back to the dyepots tomorrow.
